Why become a "contributing member" of the Band Boosters?

What does the Band Booster organization do?

The Mustang Band Boosters work hard to support and promote the incredibly talented band students and band program at DGS. The band program includes all the Concert and Jazz bands.

How does my annual dues of $50 benefit my band student and the DGS Band Program?

Here are just a few ways the Band Boosters support your student musician:

♪ Scholarships  ♫ Composer visits  ♪ Clinician workshops  ♪ Music licenses  ♫ Spring banquet awards

How is the Band Boosters different from Friends of the Fine Arts (FOFA)?

FOFA works in collaboration with the Band Boosters, and the Choir Boosters, to support students of all the curricular arts programs.

Mustang Band Boosters, however, focuses specifically on the DGS band students and band program.

Each organization asks for parent participation, through financial and volunteer assistance, to help fulfill their individual mission and goals. We all work together to expand the opportunities offered to the talented students of DGS.

My student is in band, so aren't I already a Band Booster?

Yes, but we encourage you to support the band program through financial assistance by becoming a contributing member. We want our talented band students and incredible band program to thrive, and your financial support is key.

Can I attend the Band Booster meetings, even if I haven't paid the annual membership dues?

Absolutely, please join us! Meetings are held the first Monday of each month (except for July) at 7:00 p.m. in Room D180. Come see first hand all the hard work that is put into supporting the DGS band students and band program.

How do I become a contributing member?

Your generous contribution of $50 per family can be paid online, dropped off in the band room mailbox, or mailed to:

Greg Hensel, Band Director
Downers Grove South High School
1436 Norfolk St.
Downers Grove, IL 60516-2600

Make checks payable to "Downers Grove South High School" and put "Mustang Band Boosters" and your band student(s) name (if any) in the memo field.

All contributing members will be listed in each concert program.

Thank You!
