BAND BOOSTER BOARD HELP
The Mustang band boosters need to fill several key vacancies in the board for 2018-2019. We have a strong program and the kids had a great season, but we cannot do it without parent support in leadership positions. I have listed the open positions below with a short description of the responsibilities. Some positions require more of a time commitment than others. If you are interested, I can put you in touch with the outgoing volunteer for more information. In some cases, you will the opportunity to shadow the position for a few months in order to learn the ins and outs before you take over.
VP of Membership – This is an executive board position and most of the effort is required from March to October, but with some additional tasks during the rest of the year. The membership chair collects the marching band forms (in conjunction with the medical coordinator), track the on-line fee collection with the directors and Treasurer and keep the records in Charms (training will be provided.)
VP of Student Accounts – This is an executive board position and is a year-round job. The student accounts chair keeps the records for the money that students earn during fundraisers in Charms. Training will be provided.
Treasurer – This is an executive board position and is a year-round job. The treasurer is responsible for keeping track of the Marching Mustang, General Band and Winter Guard budgets and-school based checking account.
Secretary – The Secretary is also an executive board position and attends each meeting, takes the minutes and sends them to the executive board prior to each meeting.
Music Bowl Shadows – Our current Music Bowl chairs will “graduate” after next year. It is crucial for the incoming chairs to shadow for a year. The shadows will start in March or April and work closely with the Music Bowl chairs to learn the ropes. The Music Bowl is a very important part of our marching band program and contributes almost 25% of our marching band budget.
We also need several helpers for our Ways and Means team. We are looking for shadows for plant sale coordinators. Our present coordinators, Charlene and Bill Kubik, are graduating this year, but they are extremely well organized will provide all the training needed. We also have openings for the fall fundraiser and restaurant coordinator positions.
